Embellishing

So this weekend I picked up some women's undershirts in order to try my hand at embellishing clothing. Needless to say, I am no seamstress, and no fashion designer either. So this is what came out of it:

The grey tank has some vintage lace seam binding (I wasn't going to do anything else with it, that's for sure...) poorly handsewn around the neckline, and the pink bow is from a fondue kit and is detachable (via a pin).

The black tank has the "queen of hearts" design courtesy of my "Incredible Stud Setting Machine" i.e. the ghetto-style BeDazzler I got off eBay years ago. Let me tell ya...NOT WORTH THE TIME. Every other stone I had to pry out and straighten the prongs of the setting because the damn thing just didn't work like it was supposed to. The settings still look wonky enough that you guys don't get a close-up.
So in conclusion, I am never going to be a fashion designer.

Rise & Shine!

Since I had the entire afternoon free, I decided to spend it crafting instead of studying (no one saw that one coming, eh?) I embellished two undershirts and made a bunch of breakfast foods out of clay. Breakfast food is the cutest!

More Stitch Markers

Heartened by the quick sale of my green stitch markers, I made these just now instead of studying the lectures I missed on Wednesday morning.
Sadly, when I did the math on my pricing of those other stitch markers, it turned out that between the PayPal fee, the Etsy commission, and the actual price of shipping and handling, I barely covered the cost of materials, much less my time. Sigh. But it's still fun to make them...

Emerald Stitch Markers

I like how this photo of these stitch markers came out. The afternoon sun really brought out the...err...green inside the glass. They sold quickly! Yay!

Cookout Stitch Markers

I keep making mini foods, and I can't think of anything to do with them but to make stitch markers...thank goodness for Etsy! I get to keep making little foods, it's helping to keep me in crafty solvency, and I also feel like I've got a little mini-business. It's so exciting...

ETA: Here they are all packed up and ready to go:

WIP Update

This is what my creamsicle sweater looks like right now. I'm at the point where I've put underarm stitches on holders, and about to cast on for the sleeves separately. This is on hold while I A) do a swap and B) find #7 DPNs.
Speaking of swaps...a little taste of what I'm making...in real life the yarn is darker, I couldn't get it to photograph right at night...
